Did you know? Michigan passed a law to ensure kids enrolling into their first year of school have the opportunity to receive an oral health assessment prior to starting school.
Early detection and treatment of dental problems can help children succeed in
school. The Kindergarten Oral Health Assessment (KOHA) is a new program
that is similar to Michigan’s Hearing and Vision Screening Programs and is also
provided by local health departments.
Kingsley Kindergarteners will be receiving an in-school visit on September 26th. Students will be sent home with a letter from the dental hygienists detailing their findings from the assessment.
