Kingsley Wrestling will begin their 2023-24 competition season this Saturday, December 9 at Manton High School.
The team looks to have another successful season with returning contributors of Alex Drury (120), Gavyn Merchant (132), Cameron Fryer (138), Jonathan Pearson (144), Colton Goethals (150), Tyler Unterbrink (157), Isaiah Cosgrove (165), Adalene Chambers (170), James Pearson (175), Caleb Bott (190), and Maximus Goethals (190).
Alongside many returning wrestlers are also some new faces that have been working hard: Austin Chavalia (106), Hope VanTassel (115), Aiden Karpinski (120), Lily Mullin (125), Anna Bauer (130), Macy Pierce (130), AJ Chavalia (126), Nolan Hodges (132), Austin Powell (132), Levi Johnson (144), Emily Bott (145), Nolan Smith (144), Seth Johnson (150), Scotty Stremlow (150), Eli Mitchell (150), Perry Smith (165), Trenton Traylor (165), Collin McCoy (190), Garrett Martz (215), Nathan Clifford (285).
After falling short of last year’s team goal, the team hopes to rebound with their team slogan of “Redemption” as the main focus. During the 2022-23 season there were ten individual state qualifiers and three all-state placers. This season the Stags return five qualifiers and one all-state placer (Gavyn Merchant 2nd).
The team would love support, especially at the home meets:
12/19/2023: HOME vs PineRiver, McBain *Parent Night/Senior Night
1/3/2024: HOME vs Manton, Lake City
1/25/2024: HOME vs Whitehall
Go Stags!
